This is the introduction page for the bunnies that I share my roof with.
LUME
Born 13th of August 2008 in to a litter of four.
Her mother, Marilyn, is a lionhead/hermelin and Lume’s father, Pelle, is a hermelin.
She came to us on 10th of October along with her brother, Skunkki. Lume along with her brother live in our livingroom area freely and also have the access to the kitchen & balcony (in summer) during daytime.
She has a feisty personality, and is a true diva who knows what she deserves. Usually the one to stir up things first.
Lume loves her brother very much, even if they do squabble at times, but they get in to all kinds of mischief together. Be it opening the bathroom-door or jumping on the faces of pet humans when they dare lie on the couch.
Scratches, hugs and long daily grooming sessions from those silly humans are also much appreciated

Syntyi 13/08/2008 neljän pentueeseen.
Hänen emonsa, Marilyn, on leijonaharjas/hermeliini ja isä, Pelle, hermeliini.
Hän tuli meille 10/10/2008 veljensä Skunkin kanssa. Lume ja hänen veljensä asuvat olohuonemme alueella vapaina, päivisin päästen myös keittiöön ja parvekkeelle (kesäisin).
Hänellä on kipakka luonne ja on todellinen diiva joka tietää mitä ansaitsee. Yleensä ensimmäisenä sekoittamassa soppaa.
Lume rakastaa veljeään hyvin paljon, vaikka he välillä keskenään nahistelevatkin, sekä päätyvät yhdessä kaikenlaiseen pahantekoon. Oli se kylpyhuoneen oven avaaminen tai lemmikki-ihmisten naamoille hyppiminen jos he uskaltavatkin maata sohvalla.
Rapsutukset, halaukset ja pitkät päivittäiset hemmotteluhetket ovat myös varsin hyvässä arvossa.
SKUNKKI
Much the same can be said about him as about Lume, his sister. He was born 13th of August in to a litter of four being the only one to inherit the lionhead-mane from his mother Marilyn.
He was the runt of the litter and for a long time it wasn’t sure would he survive or not because he wasn’t gaining any weight. It could have been that Marilyn didn’t nurse him like she did with the other pups because he was entirelly the ‘wrong’ color compaired to his siblings. There is no black&brown madagascar in the family.
Calm, but quite shy and only lets himself to be touched when he wants it – and that isn’t very often. He gets most of his grooming from his sister.

Paljon samaa voisi sanoa hänestä kuin siskostaan Lumesta. Hän syntyi 13/08/2008 neljän pentueeseen ja oli ainoa joka peri harjaksen äidiltään Marilynilta.
Hän oli pentueen pahnanpohjimmainen ja oli pitkään epäselvää, selviääkö hän ollenkaan koska paino ei juurikaan kohonnut. Voi olla, ettei Marilyn imettänyt häntä kuten toisia pentujaan, koska poika oli aivan väärän värinen verrattuna heihin. Mustanruskeaa madagaskaria ei esiinny suvussa.
Rauhallinen, mutta hyvin ujo ja antaa itseään kosketettavan vain jos hän itse haluaa – se ei ole kovin usein. Suurimman osan paijauksista hän saa siskoltaan.
HARJU
Born 25th of October 2009 in to a litter of five. He is a lionhead fuchs mix who came to us by coincidence during June 2010 from our local pet-store Faunatar. I’d usually never buy a pet from a pet-store (because I do oppose animal-breeding for money) and because I tend to feel really bad & physically ill if I look at confined animals in these horrendous places I usually skip the ‘pet-sector’. But it was due to a friend of mine, who wanted to take a look at the pets there, that I noticed Harju for the first time. He was unusually good-mannered and well kept for a pet-store bunny. There was also something about the way he stood up and looked at me from behind the glass.
On the second day he came to us, roaming free, he ran straight against something with a loud bang – hurting his right back-foot. A series of tear-filled vet-visits followed, and I was scared for his life. Nothing on the foot was found, even with an x-ray – but he was in pain. He didn’t eat, he didn’t move, he limped and grinded his teeth when the foot was touched. Most likely it was a hairfracture between the back-foot tendant that couldn’t be seen via x-ray, so he was given 4 weeks of ‘cage-rest’.
Now the four weeks have passed, and we can finally start giving him time to adjust to his new life with two bunnyfriends better.

Syntynyt 25/10/2009 viiden pentueeseen. Hän on leijonaharjas fuchs risteytys joka tuli meille sattumalta kesäkuussa 2010 lähellä olevasta eläinkaupasta, Faunattaresta. En yleensä koskaan ostaisi lemmikkiä eläinkaupasta (koska vastustan eläinten kasvattamista rahan eteen) ja koska voin fyysisesti sekä henkisesti pahoin jos katselen sellaisiin hirvittäviin paikkoihin vangittuja eläimiä. Yleensä skippaan koko ‘eläin-puolen’. Kuintenkin yksi ystävistäni halusi käydä katsomassa eläimiä ja hänen ansiostaan kohtasin Harjun ensimmäisen kerran. Hän oli epätavallisen hyväluontoinen eläinkauppa-kaniksi. Myös siinä tavassa, jolla hän nousi seisomaan ja katsoi minua lasin takaa, oli jotain.
Toisena päivänä kun hän saapui meille, kuljeskellessaan vapaana, hän juoksi päin jotakin kovan pamauksen siivittämänä – satuttaen oikean takajalkansa. Sarja kyyneltäytteisiä eläinlääkärireissuja seurasi ja pelkäsin hänen henkensä puolesta. Myöskään mitään vikaa jalasta löydetty röntgen-kuvankaan avulla – mutta oli selvästi tuskissaan. Hän ei syönyt, ei liikkunut, linkutti ja narskutti hampaitaan jos jalkaan koskettiin. Todennäköisesti kyseessä oli hiusmurtuma takajalan jänteen välissä, jonne röntgenillä ei saatu selvyyttä, joten hän sai neljän viikon ‘häkki-levon’.
Nyt nuo neljä viikkoa ovat jääneet taakse ja voimme viimein antaa hänelle aikaa tottua uuteen elämäänsä kahden pupuystävän kanssa paremmin.
